Video: Derrick Rose Works on Agility

D. Rose works with a Chicago Bulls trainer on change-of-direction and agility drills

The biggest sports news in Chicago on Tuesday was not the Bulls beating the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night, but that Derrick Rose was able to participate in full-contact practice for the first time.

Prior to facing the Lakers, Tom Thibodeau alluded to D. Rose being able to begin full-contact work this week, but no one really knew when or what day that would actually happen.

D. Rose has been going through practice and pre-game workouts for several weeks and on Saturday, prior to the Bulls taking on the Memphis Grizzlies at the United Center, NBC 5 was able to capture one of Rose’s workout sessions with a member of the team’s training staff.

There have been videos circulating on the Internet of Rose running and shooting jump shots, but this may be the first video we’ve seen of him working on change-of-direction and agility. Also of note, D. Rose was doing these things without wearing a knee brace.

There is still no timetable on when Derrick will get back on the court, but if this video is any indication, his return is very close.
