Bulls Sign Cartier Martin to 10-day Contract

The Chicago Bulls added another player to the roster on Friday after trading Luol Deng on Monday

Needing to shore up their small forward position – and add another player to the roster after trading Luol Deng to Cleveland – the Chicago Bulls announced on Friday afternoon that they’d signed free agent Cartier Martin to a 10-day contract.

Martin is currently in his sixth year in the NBA. After being drafted by the Iowa Energy with the 15th pick in the 2008 NBA D-League Draft, Martin was signed by the Charlotte Bobcats in Feb. 2009 for the remainder of the 2008-09 season. In addition to the Bobcats, Martin has also played for the Golden State Warriors, the Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks.

Earlier this season, he appeared in 25 games – two starts – with the Hawks, and averaged 6.6 points on 40 percent shooting from the field, 41 percent from the three-point line and two rebounds in 18 minutes per game.

The addition Martin brings the Bulls roster to 13 players.
