Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews may have missed out on being named captain of Team Canada at the upcoming World Cup of Hockey, but that hasn’t stopped him from continuing to astound people with his preparations for the 2016-17 season.
In a video posted to his Instagram account Thursday, Toews shows off both his stick-handling skills and his insane balance all at once, demonstrating why he’s one of the league’s biggest stars:
Toews is coming off of one of his toughest seasons as a pro, where he put up his lowest point total in a full season with the Hawks. He only managed 58 points last season, scoring 28 goals and dishing out 30 assists, and he’s been working hard all offseason to make sure that he doesn’t have a repeat performance this coming year.
The captain posted a video earlier this offseason of his on-ice preparation for the season, displaying his powerful skating strides while being held back by a tension band during a workout.
