Golden Knights Take Trevor van Riemsdyk in Expansion Draft

The Chicago Blackhawks lost defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk to the Vegas Golden Knights n Wednesday’s NHL Expansion Draft.

The defenseman, who spent three seasons with the Blackhawks, is one of the players that the team took during the expansion draft on Wednesday in Las Vegas. The picks were announced at the annual NHL Awards ceremony, but took place earlier in the morning.

In three seasons with Chicago, van Riemsdyk scored eight goals and dished out 23 assists in 158 games, but he struggled to stay on the ice as a string of injures and occasional inconsistent play hurt his development with the franchise.
