Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling unveiled his new mask this week, and there’s only one word that can properly describe it.

    “Excellent!”

That’s because the goaltender, who grew up in suburban Lemont, paid tribute to the guys from “Wayne’s World,” the legendary SNL skit that featured the exploits of Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey). Here is his new lid:

The mask features the visages of Wayne and Garth, and also displays the logo for Stan Mikita’s Donuts, a fictional doughnut shop featured in the movie that was named after the legendary Blackhawks forward of the same name.

Darling has become known for his colorful masks during his career in Chicago, often employing designs that including homages to the city of Chicago.
