Author's Note: I, like many of you, am intensely focused on the developments occurring in Boston, Massachusetts today in the investigation into the Marathon bombing. My thoughts and prayers are with those in harm's way at this frightening time, as well as the families of heroes like Officer Sean Collier, who was killed by these cowardly terrorists.

I'll do my best throughout today to distract you, the reader, from these tragic events, but on days like today, it is perfectly appropriate for our status as Americans to take precedence over any trivial matter like hockey news.

With that in mind, here is today's edition of Hawks Headlines:

-Bob Verdi, team historian for the Chicago Blackhawks, has a great interview up on their website with Pat Foley, the broadcaster who will be celebrating his 30th anniversary with the team in a ceremony Friday before the team's game against the Nashville Predators. [Blackhawks.com]

-Nina Falcone also has thoughts on Foley's legacy, and this post includes video of the legendary broadcaster. [CSN Chicago]

-Dan McNeill, who also hosts a radio show on 670 the Score, has some fond memories of Foley that he shared in his weekly column this afternoon. [Chicago Tribune]

-Moving on to team specific issues, the Hawks' power play once again finds itself under a microscope after some serious struggles lately. Scott Powers has more. [ESPN Chicago]

-Head coach Joel Quenneville is leaning towards giving some of his starters some rest coming down the stretch, now that the team has the number one seed in the West locked up. [Chicago Sun-Times]

-Finally, Tim Sassone wrote a piece detailing who he believes is the team's MVP. Spoiler alert: it's Jonathan Toews. [Daily Herald]
