Ehrhoff Set to Make Blackhawks Debut Wednesday in Detroit

Ehrhoff was acquired from the Kings in a pre-trade deadline swap

The Chicago Blackhawks will get at least one of their new trade acquisitions into the lineup on Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings, but the final piece of the puzzle will have to wait at least one more day.

The player that will make his Blackhawks debut on Wednesday night will be Christian Ehrhoff, who was a scratch from the Hawks’ victory on Sunday over the Washington Capitals. Tomas Fleischmann and Andrew Ladd both joined the Blackhawks in that game, and both will be in the lineup again on Wednesday as Ehrhoff skates with the team for the first time.

The Blackhawks also provided an update on the status of forward Dale Weise, who was stuck in Canada while the team sorted through work visa issues following his acquisition from the Canadiens. Weise is travelling to Detroit to join up with the Blackhawks, according to head coach Joel Quenneville, but he won’t make his debut with the team until Thursday when the Hawks battle the Boston Bruins.
