If you answered yes to any of those questions, then the Blackhawks have got a great gift idea for you. On Monday, the team began selling vials of melted ice taken from the United Center after the team won the 2013 Stanley Cup championship.
Each vial costs $99, and only 2013 vials will be sold, with certificates of authenticity signed by team president John McDonough.
To those that would balk at paying $99, the purchase price is high because the money is going to a good cause. Chicago Blackhawks Charities is an organization that supports programs that benefit underprivileged youth throughout the state of Illinois, and all of the money raised from the sale will benefit the charity.
According to the Blackhawks, each vial of ice will come with a leather-embossed display box that is engraved with the Hawks' logo. Delivery is expected to take 6-to-8 weeks.
