Divers pulled a body from the DesPlaines River near Channahon, Ill., this afternoon.

Police discovered the body the Big Basin Marina, located near the bridge on I-55 near the southwest suburb.

ABC7 reported that the "badly decomposed body has not been identified, but police say it is a white female."

Previous searches in that area have been executed in the investigations of missing suburban women, Stacy Peterson and Lisa Stebic.  However, the remains have not been indentified, and there is no reason to believe today's discovery is connected to either case.

A staging area has been set up on the riverbank and State Police investigators remained at the scene as of 5 p.m.
