Todd Stroger to Freeze Hiring in Cook County Gov't

    Cook County Board President Todd Stroger told the board today he's instituting a hiring freeze in county government, according to Commissioner Tony Peraica.

    Via his Twitter updates, Peraica said commissioners were arguing back and forth over the freeze -- but Stroger said he would institute it via executive order.
