A one-year-old boy was hospitalized with a head injury after a man threw a speaker at a woman and it struck the child instead during a domestic altercation on the Southwest Side early Monday.
About 1:15 a.m., the man and woman were involved in a domestic fight at a residence in the 2100 block of South Millard Avenue, according to police.
During the fight the man allegedly threw a speaker at the woman but it missed her and hit the head of a 1-year-old boy, police said.
The child was transported in an unidentified condition with a head injury to Mount Sinai Hospital. The man was arrested, but was not charged with anything as of 5:15 a.m.
The relationship between the three was not known immediately.
