Alcohol and reckless driving are suspected after a 17-year-old fell off a car and was critically injured outside his home early Sunday in unincorporated Wonder Lake.

At 12:59 a.m., emergency crews responded to the 7200 block of Seminole Drive in unincorporated Wonder Lake for an injured 17-year-old male who had fallen off the hood of a car, according to a release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2006 Pontiac G6 had been backing out of a driveway at the Seminole Drive address when Justin Cummins, 17, jumped on the hood of the car, according to the release.

Cummins was airlifted to Lutheran General Hospital in critical condition.
