Handlebar-Riding Teen Possibly Shoots Man's Ear Off

A teen on the handlebars of a bike shot at a man as he walked with his wife Tuesday night, possibly causing him to lose an ear, WBBM radio reported.

About 8:45 p.m., the man, 37, and his 36-year-old wife were walking home through an alley on the 6200 block of S. Langley Ave. when two male teenagers approached on the same bicycle, police said.

One of the teens asked, “What y’all about?” and the teen riding on the handlebars used a sawed-off shotgun to shoot the man in the left side of the head, “taking off” his left ear, police said.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating, but nobody is in custody early Wednesday.
