Chicago Police Board Fires Two Officers

The Chicago Police Board has fired two veteran officers, one for fraternizing with a convicted felon and the other for beating a handcuffed suspect, records released on Friday show.

Karen Oaks, a 12-year-veteran, had a relationship with a four-time convicted felon between 2002 and 2005 while she was a Central District tactical officer, the board determined.

The Police Board also dismissed Larry Guy Jr., an Albany Park District officer, for beating a handcuffed shoplifting suspect after the officer was cut by a razor he found in the suspect's pocket. [Read More...]
