A fire early Sunday gutted a half-dozen businesses largely owned by Asian immigrant families who had been in the Bronzeville neighborhood on Chicago's South Side for years, neighbors said.

Fire investigators said they believe the blaze, which destroyed the shops in a historic one-story building on East 35th Street at South Giles Avenue, was accidental, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
