Don't let this happen to you.
God bless Next Door. I've written about them before as one of the cool co-working spaces in Chicago, and the State Farm-run space continues to prove itself as an invaluable resource for entrepreneurs. Later this week, the café on Diversey will host a free, three-hour workshop on how entrepreneurs can avoid the common bear traps and land mines most folks blindly walk into, not even knowing they're there when it comes to launching a new business: "Whether it's picking the right structure for your business (LLC vs S corp vs C corp) or negotiating funding details, it is better knowing these answers and who you need to consult ahead of time."
David Wolinsky is a freelance writer and a lifelong Chicagoan. In addition to currently serving as an interviewer-writer for Adult Swim, he's also a comedy-writing instructor for Second City. He was the Chicago city editor for The Onion A.V. Club where he provided in-depth daily coverage of this city's bustling arts/entertainment scene for half a decade. When not playing video games for work he's thinking of dashing out to Chicago Diner, Pizano's, or Yummy Yummy. His first career aspirations were to be a game-show host.
