The FBI announced Tuesday that it will debut its first-ever mobile app right here in Chicago.

Their application "FBI Child ID" aims to help parents store vital information about their children for easy identification, should anything happen.

Robert D. Grant, the special agent-in-charge of the Chicago office of the FBI announced the app, alongside the Bears' Caleb Hanie.

Our very own Brad Spirrison says there are more, and better apps available to keep you children safe.

There are scores of family tracking apps available for iOS and Android devices. There is always a compromise, however, between knowing where your children and loved ones are at various points of time and making sure their privacy rights are respected.

Among the more popular are Family Tracker, available for iPhones, iPads and Android devices, and Life360 Family Locator iOS and Android devices

While it's nice that Caleb Hanie is participating in the National Child Identification program, he shouldn't lose site of his primary goal which is to identify and target receivers in Chicago Bears' uniforms.

We're inclined to agree, and now that we know the FBI knows who we are, we have to go delete our Napster account.
