Knox Needs Four Months Recovery

Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday that he would't rule out Caleb Hanie

Bears Wide Receiver Johnny Knox emerged from surgery to repair vertabrae in his back, Monday afternoon.

Knox was caught in a violent hit during the first quarter of Sunday's Bears loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Sources said he fractured a facet joint, which supports the spinal column.

Reports say Knox will need three to four months to recover from the brutal hit that distorted his body.

Meanwhile, Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday that he would't rule out Caleb Hanie for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Hanie was pulled from Sunday's game against the Seahawks after tossing his ninth interception of the year. He's only thrown three TD passes on the season.
