Bears Linebacker Saves Man's Life at Austin Airport

Chicago Bears linebacker Jerrell Freeman is known for his ability to sack the quarterback, but on Sunday, he did something even more remarkable.

He saved someone’s life.

Freeman, who will report to training camp with the Bears this week in Bourbonnais, was at the Austin, TX airport on Sunday when he encountered a man named Marcus Ryan. According to Freeman’s Twitter account, Ryan was choking, and the linebacker stepped up and performed the Heimlich maneuver:

The tweet quickly spread around social media, as fans from all corners of the NFL world praised Freeman’s quick thinking and life-saving actions.

Freeman and the rest of the Bears will head to Bourbonnais for their annual training camp this week, with players reporting on Wednesday and practices getting underway on Thursday.
