Forte, Hester Honored in Sports Illustrated

Last week, Grizzly Detail named Matt Forte the offensive MVP through the half-season, and Devin Hester the special teams MVP. It was a no-brainer at the time, because both men have had such an important impact on the team.

It turns out that it's not just Chicagoans who have taken notice of Forte and Hester's contributions. Noted football writer Peter King has named them both to his Midseason All-Pro team. Forte is King's NFC running back, with Hester getting accolades as a kick and punt returner.

Not only is Forte the NFC back, but King recognized him as the offensive MVP, beating out Detroit's Calvin Johnson and New Orleans' Jimmy Graham. Aaron Rodgers is the overall MVP, but it's clear that King sees just how valuable Forte is to the Bears offense.

Unfortunately, the good news ends there, Bears fans. In King's predictions, the Bears fail to make the playoffs. He thinks that the Packers and Lions will both make the playoffs, which would make it hard for the Bears to sneak in.

As the season started, did you expect any Bears to break out and impress the way Forte and Hester have? Is King wrong? Will the Bears make the playoffs? Talk to us on Twitter or in the comments.
