David Montgomery Limited in Bears' Practice Wednesday

Linebacker Danny Trevathan missed the workout with an elbow injury

The Chicago Bears are getting set for their showdown with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, but one of their most important offensive weapons was limited in Wednesday’s workout.

According to the team’s first injury report of the week, running back David Montgomery was limited in practice with an ankle injury. Montgomery has rushed for 466 yards and five touchdowns so far this season, and had 60 rushing yards in Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field.

The injury comes at a bad time for the Bears, as they just waived running back Mike Davis, who was claimed by the Carolina Panthers.

The Bears said that three players missed Wednesday’s workout, including linebacker Danny Trevathan, who suffered an elbow injury in Sunday’s game. The team has not ruled out placing Trevathan on season-ending injured reserve, but has not made an official move yet.

Linebacker Isaiah Irving is still out of practice with a quad injury that kept him out of Sunday’s game, and tight end Trey Burton missed the workout with a calf injury, the team said.

The Bears and Rams will face-off on NBC’s Sunday Night Football this weekend, with kickoff set for 7:20 p.m. at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
