NFL Fines Cutler $10k for Tossing Ball at Viking

The NFL this week fined Bears quarterback Jay Cutler for flipping the ball last Sunday at Minnesota Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson.

Cutler ran out of bounds and tossed the ball at No. 24, apparently believing Jefferson unnecessarily hit him.

The quarterback made reference to the gesture during his Monday radio show on Chicago's ESPN Radio.

"I've got to be smarter than that," he said. "If anyone else on offense had done that I would have probably yelled at him like it can’t happen here. I can’t do it again obviously."

Cutler wasn't alone in getting fined.

Wide receiver Eric Weems told the Chicago Tribune he was fined $7,875 for striking Jefferson late on the play immediately before Cutler taunted Jefferson. He plans to appeal.
