Elliott Fry Signs Contract With Ravens After Release by Bears

Fry will likely be in Baltimore for just one game, as Justin Tucker is the likely starter

Just a few days after being waived by the Chicago Bears, kicker Elliott Fry has found a new home, as he’s signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens.

Fry, who signed a three-year contract with the Bears during the offseason, was waived by the team after their Week 2 loss to the New York Giants. Fry had previously played with the Orlando Apollos of the now-defunct Alliance of American Football, and had made one of the two field goals he attempted in the preseason.

The Ravens do already have an established kicker in Justin Tucker, likely meaning that Fry is simply coming to Baltimore for the team’s final preseason game later this week. The move still could represent an audition for Fry as he continues his quest to make an NFL roster.

Meanwhile in Chicago, Eddy Pineiro is having a grand time as the team’s lone kicker, making a pair of field goals in Saturday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. One of the kicks, a 58-yard attempt, sailed straight down the middle between the uprights, drawing raucous cheers and celebrations from the Bears’ bench.
