The Big Number: 8

8 -- Sacks from Ndamukong Suh so far in his rookie season

Despite his team's futility, rookie Ndamukong Suh has been having a stellar year. He has eight sacks, 45 tackles and a fumble return for a touchdown. He even tried for an extra point after the Lions regular kicker was injured. Though he missed, it's obvious that Suh is starting his career out with a bang.

But how does that measure up to another defensive linemen who also had a huge freshman season?

Julius Peppers won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2002, despite the fact that he missed the final three games of the season to serve a suspension for taking a banned nutritional supplement. In just 13 games, he notched 12 sacks and 36 tackles for the Panthers. Add to that an interception, five forced fumbles and six broken up passes, and you could see why football fans in Carolina were so crazy about Pep.

This Sunday's game will be Suh's thirteenth, and unless he has an unreal game, he will not get close to Peppers' numbers. That doesn't mean that he's not a threat, but the Bears offense practices stopping Peppers every week. Suh isn't unstoppable.
