For weeks now, Aaron Rodgers has been trying like crazy to break into the Green Bay Packers' lineup after breaking his collarbone against the Chicago Bears, and after all that effort, it appears that his hard work has paid off.

Rodgers will start on Sunday against the Bears as the two teams vie for the NFC North championship at Soldier Field. Here is Imig's tweet on the subject:

Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed the reports at his press conference on Thursday afternoon, saying that the team was ready to "move forward" with Rodgers as the starting quarterback.

Sunday's game carries added pressure for both the Bears and the Packers. The victor will win the division and earn a playoff berth.

While the Packers aren't sure about Rodgers, their linebacker Clay Matthews will miss Sunday's game after aggravating a right thumb injury.

Green Bay didn't practice Wednesday but issued an injury report as if it did. Matthews was listed as out.

Matthews got hurt during a sack in Sunday's 38-31 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Matthews missed four games earlier this season after initially breaking the thumb in Week 5 in October.

Matthews looked to be in extreme pain on the sideline Sunday after the sack. Coach Mike McCarthy has described it as a "repeat injury."

The Packers will also likely have WR Randall Cobb back from a broken leg injury that has sidelined him for most of the season.
