Peppers, Marshall Among Bears Who Will Play Thursday

During last week's game against Carolina, Bears players nursing injuries were kept out of the game. Expect to see a fuller roster take the field on Thursday against San Diego.

Brandon Marshall, who rested a hip that was surgically-repaired in the off-season, and Julius Peppers, who has been given veterans rest days throughout camp, are both expected to play. Joe Anderson tweaked his shoulder in the game, but results of his MRI were negative. Expect to see the wideout get many opportunities on Thursday.

Right tackle Jonathan Scott didn't have such good news. His knee has been giving him trouble throughout camp, and Trestman said it was drained Monday. Earl Bennett's concussion effects are still lingering. He has been rehabbing at home.

Playing time in pre-season generally builds for starters until the third game, where they put in the most time to get their timing down. By the fourth game, it's more important for coaches to see the non-starters on the field as they make final roster decisions. Enjoy the stars on the field while you can, because you won't truly see what they can do until the season opener on Sept. 8.
