Forte Says Trestman Didn't Hold Cutler Accountable Last Season

There has been a lot of talk during Chicago Bears training camp about accountability and a new team culture for the organization, but Matt Forte delivered the strongest words yet about the state of the team in an interview Wednesday.

The interview, which took place on the Rich Eisen Show, featured Forte weighing in on several topics, including a lack of accountability for quarterback Jay Cutler:

Forte wasn’t done there, however. Last week, former Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall said that he was the only player on the team that kept Cutler accountable last season, and Forte not only disagreed with that assertion, but fired back at Marshall’s own maturity:

It will be interesting to see how the Bears react to Forte’s comments, but one thing is for certain: in the final year of his contract with the team, the running back isn’t holding back with his viewpoints on anything, and his candor provides an interesting glimpse into what was going on with the team last season.
