Former Chicago Bears defensive end and Super Bowl XX MVP Richard Dent was arrested in the northern suburbs early Wednesday after police clocked him driving 107 mph in a 55 mph zone, authorities said.
About 2:13 a.m., Dent was driving on the Edens Expressway (I-94) at Winnetka Avenue in Northfield when he was pulled over for speeding, according to Northfield police.
Dent, 54, was driving a 2010 Range Rover when he was clocked 107 mph, according to police.
Dent, of Long Grove, was charged with a misdemeanor for excessive speeding and released on a $2,000 bond, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 5.
Dent played defensive end for the Bears from 1983-1993, and again in 1995. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.
