Chicago Bears wide reciever Earl Bennett is recovering from a car accident with a drunk driver that occurred early this morning, according to reports.

Bennett, who led the Bears with 4 receptions Sunday, tweeted early Monday on his @earlbennett80 account, that his car was hit from behind by a drunk driver. Bennett's car then smashed into a wall. He wasn't immediately available for comment, and details on the accident are spare.

Around 1:00 AM on Nov. 8, he tweeted "Ole Skool totaled SMFH!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Shortly followed by, "Thanking God I'm alive!!!!"

When asked if he was OK by a follower, Bennett responded "yeah I'm good"

There is no word on what the extent of the damages were or if Bennett was taken to the hospital. He seems to be taking it all in stride.

"Guess it wasn't meant for me to have that car oh well!" was his one of his last tweets of the night.

Bennett's last tweet of the night gives way to speculation that DJ Moore was in the car with him during the accident.
