Brian Urlacher Appears in “A Christmas Carol” Play

While the Bears prepare to play for their playoff lives Friday, Brian Urlacher is taking on a new role.

The recently-retired linebacker made a cameo appearance in "A Christmas Carol" at the Goodman Theatre Friday night.

The appearance was in connection with Make-A-Wish Illinois and 17-year-old Kenneth Schumacher, who has a heart defect.

"It's different. I've been on TV a lot lately, doing a lot of rehearsing, do it again so we can do it a different way, but it's still live, so nothing really matters, when you get out there you have to do it the right way," Urlacher said.

Chicago sports luminaries Scottie Pippen, Robin Ventura and Bobby Hull have all taken part in the Charles Dickens classic on behalf of Make-A-Wish Illinois in previous years.
