Bennett Listed as Active By Bears Ahead of Packers Game

The Chicago Bears have gotten a mix of good and bad news on the injury front this week, with Lance Briggs and Kyle Fuller looking ready to go and Matt Slauson being placed on injured reserve. The one question mark remained what would happen with tight end Martellus Bennett, who missed Friday's practice with a rib injury.

As the teams prepared for the game, however, the Bears got good news as it was revealed that Bennett would be in the starting lineup. Blake Annen, who was signed as a potential replacement if Bennett couldn't play, was listed as inactive, along with Khassem Greene, Darryl Sharpton, Eben Britton, David Bass, DeDe Lattimore and Terrance Mitchell.

Bennett's presence should clear some room over the middle of the field for Chicago, as the Bears look to get their passing game going. Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery will likely benefit as well, as safeties who would cover them over the top will now have to focus on Bennett instead.
