The Chicago Bears already have enough injury issues to fill their quota for the season, but they are dealing with yet another ailment to a key player as Robbie Gould has missed practice this week with a sore quad.

Originally, the plan was for Pat O'Donnell to take over kicking responsibilties in Gould's absence, but the team made alternative arrangements on Wednesday as they signed veteran place kicker Jay Feely to a 1-year contract.

Feely, who spent the last three seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, made 30-of-36 field goals last season, and he made 14-of-17 from 40 yards or further. He also made all 37 extra points he attempted.

To make room for Feely on the roster, the Bears released kick returner Chris Williams, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury.

As for Gould, he was listed as doubtful on the Bears' final injury report Wednesday, so unless there is a last minute change on Thursday, it looks as though Gould will miss a game for the first time since 2012.
