The Chicago Bears went into the offseason needing to shore up their linebacking corps, and on Saturday they made yet another move to address that position as they inked Jerrell Freeman to a three-year contract.

Freeman, who played the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Indianapolis Colts, will get a guaranteed $6 million on the deal, with the total value coming in at $12 million according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

In the 2015 season, the 29-year old Freeman started in 13 games for the Colts, racking up 66 tackles and three sacks on the year. He also had an interception return for a touchdown and a recovered fumble in those contests.

The Bears have also added linebacker Danny Trevathan to the mix this offseason, and along with Pernell McPhee, they seem to finally have the quality linebackers in the mix that a 3-4 defensive system requires.
