Bears License Plates Unveiled

Bumper stickers? Pshaw. Bears fans can now take their team pride to their license plates.

Navy blue plates displaying the Bears logo were unveiled Monday by Secretary of State Jesse White, Vice Chairman George McCaskey and Hall of Famer Richard Dent.

Fans can purchase vanity plates or plates with random numbers online. For each sale, $25 benefits a fund for Chicago Public Schools. Pricing varies for vanity plates, and random-number versions cost $69 for a currently titled car.

The Bears plates will be sent out April 29.

“This is a way to help your schools, your friends and your neighbors, and also represent your team as well as your state,” Dent said. "As you drive around the country you'll be representing your state as well as the Chicago Bears."

Plans are on deck for White Sox, Bulls and St. Louis Cardinals plates.
