The Chicago Bears are preparing for a very important game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, and to help prepare fans for the contest, we’ve got a fresh batch of stories to keep an eye on in this Friday edition of Bears Bites.

    - We start out with backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen, who has appeared in two games for the Bears this season. According to a new ranking of back-up quarterbacks in the NFL, Clausen is ranked dead last. Ouch. [Chicago Sun-Times]

    - The Bears have made some big strides on the offensive side of the ball this season, and the team’s success has not gone unnoticed, as Danny Kelly examines what is making the Bears so dangerous when they have the ball in their hands. [SB Nation]

    - Not to be outdone, the team’s defense has also made some remarkable progress under the direction of Vic Fangio this season. Larry Mayer takes a look at what has made them successful. [ChicagoBears.com]

    - While there’s been plenty of talk this week about John Fox going up against his former team (Jay Cutler is as well, but he’s so far removed from Denver that it feels almost silly to discuss it), the fact remains that the coach feels absolutely no sentimentality toward his former club. [Chicago Sun-Times]

    - Robbie Gould will be booting field goals for the Bears on Sunday, but his brother will be on the Denver sideline as he works as a special teams coaching intern for the Broncos. [ESPN Chicago]

    - Finally, the Bears’ recent success has certainly taken the minds of fans off of the 2016 NFL Draft, but E.J. Snyder is not one of those people as he examines the impact that Florida cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III could have on the Bears if they draft him. [Windy City Gridiron]
