In Monday’s edition of Bears Bites, we take a look at everything that happened over the course of the Chicago Bears’ weekend off, as well as what fans can expect as the team prepares to face the Green Bay Packers in a Week 9 showdown.

    - Over the weekend, voting for the Pro Bowl opened up, and fans can now vote for players regardless of what conference they play in, thanks to the league’s new “fantasy draft” format. [ChicagoBears.com]

    - The Bears have been looking for some help in key positions after injuries ravaged the team after their Week 7 loss to the Washington Redskins. Linebackers are a tough priority with Lance Briggs likely out for six weeks and DJ Williams lost for the season, but the Bears are also looking at wide receivers too. Former Lions TE Tony Scheffler won’t be added to the roster, however. [Chicago Tribune]

    - Over the weekend, Bears kicker Robbie Gould participated in a 5K race. He didn’t win, but he did make some young fans very happy. [Daily Herald]

    - Jon Bostic is going to be looked at to provide both athleticism and leadership with Briggs out of the lineup, but according to Adam Jahns, he has the tools to step up to the challenge in front of him. [Chicago Sun-Times]

    - The Green Bay Packers loom on the schedule next for the Bears, and even though the challenge was already big enough with the Packers winning six straight games in the rivalry, the fact that they’ve added new weapons to their offensive arsenal will make the hill even tougher to climb. [670 The Score]

    - Should the Bears keep Jay Cutler in the fold? That is going to be a question that many writers will be asking their readers over the coming weeks and months, and Bob Warja has weighed in with his opinion. [Bears Huddle]

    - Does the Cutler injury have the potential to cast his return to the team next season into doubt? [ESPN Chicago]

    - How will the Bears have to tweak their playbook to fit Josh McCown’s skillset as they get ready to move forward without Cutler? Steve Ronkowski has some thoughts on that subject. [Windy City Gridiron]

    - Marc Trestman’s style has been something Bears fans and pundits have been trying to get a grasp on as he has begun his career with the team, and John Mullin tries to fill in some blanks in that regard with this interesting post. [CSN Chicago]
