Bears Snag South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery in Round 2

In day two of the draft, the Bears moved up to the 45th spot with a trade with a Rams to get Alshon Jeffrey, a wide receiver out of South Carolina.

At 6-foot-4, he has the size that the Bears wanted to add to the receiving corps.

In three seasons at South Carolina, Jeffrey caught for 3,062 yards. His best season was in 2010, when he caught for more than 1,500 yards.

Though he's not a speed demon, scouts have been impressed with his route running and ability to jump off the line. He needs work on conditioning, but with Jay Cutler breathing down his neck, he will be motivated to hit the gym. As a part of the revamped Bears receiving corps, Jeffrey should be able to contribute both as a possession receiver and someone big enough to help out in the red zone.
