“…it's like going into Wisconsin!”

First, if you can name the movie from which the headline is from, I'll give you some props on Dance Friday next week.

Construction season sucks! I mentioned the Wisconsin mess during trivia yesterday. Then it dawned on me that the race at the Milwaukee Mile is this Sunday. Have fun Lake County people!! Enjoy the slogging along up and back the "Cheese Causeway"

If you're in the west or northwest burbs. Do yourself a favor and take RT 47 or US 12 thru Lake Geneva and drive as if you were head to Alpine Valley in East Troy. Then keep going to I-43 and head East. The back door to Milwaukee will have never looked so good.

The previous alternate route also applies to the following:

-Sox-Brewers series
-Summerfest
-Brewery Tours
-Bastille Day
-Cow tipping
-Buying Fireworks
-Purchasing Lottery Tickets
-Visiting Smoke-filled bars (I love the smoking ban!)
-Any other rural pranks that might keep you busy in the summer
-finally, Bears-Packers on September 13th

**Funnyman Whit would like to remind everyone in the Traffic Lounge that he's opening his Second City show "Hocus Focus" tonight at 7:30 in the Donny's Skybox Theater at Piper's Alley (1608 N. Wells). It runs every Friday thru June 26th. He helped write it, he'll act in it, and I will applaud his every move. Maybe I'll see you there tonight! Join me if you do.

**Now I would like to remind you that you should think about the Chicago Machine. Did you see them on Dance Friday?

They are the city's Major League Lacrosse team and they'll open the home schedule at Soldier Field Saturday at 3pm. If you've never been to Soldier Field, or are missing the East Coast (where Lacrosse rules), then you have no excuse. (That's right, I'm guilting you into going! You should be ashamed!)

**Street Fest Update: Yeah, its neighborhood festival time. An excuse for late 20-somethings to "party hardy" according to Wild Bill West in the Lounge. I'll concur! A good time if you have a good local band lineup and some good scenery. (oh and it works both ways!).

Do-Division Street has Division Street closed between Ashland and Leavitt until Sunday night. If you drop by, hang out at Crust afterwards (2056 W. Division) and ask for Ed. He's my guy.

Belmont/Sheffield Music Festival gets rolling for the 25th year. Sheffield Avenue will remain closed between Belmont and School. That's a BIG problem for Cub fans. If you drive to the park for the Saturday 3:05 game or the Sunday 7:05 game (National TV) stay on LSD until Irving Park. If you come up Ashland, don't try and cut over too soon or you'll run right into it. The Red Line will be a mess, but it's still your best bet.

Finally, Mayfest in Lincoln Square. It's all free (well, to get in anyway). Enjoy the weekend!
