Where do the meters go???

In the photo above, contractors remove coined meters in favor of the cash box (which sits in place right behind this particular meter.) I stumbled upon this situation outside of the NBC Tower and wondered aloud, "Can I have one of those?"

One worker politely said, "No, we have to give them back to the City."

"But what do they do with them?" I replied.

"Good question." he said and then continued on with the chore of ripping up meters and putting them in the back of the dump truck.

What would you do if you could get your hands on one of those? Would you buy one at auction, like the City does with the banners around town?

I would take a baseball bat and beat the crap out of one, just like the guys in Office Space do to the printer! That's what I'd do. Think about the years of frustration we could all unload on these bad boys. It's not like the City is going to do anything with them. Can they be recycled? Can they be re-used? What happens to the quarters already in them? So many questions!!!

**Dancing Upstart Cassidy wasn't on Dance Friday. She had to step away because of a family matter and our thoughts and prayers are with her. But her absence was tough for Award-Winning NBC Producer Ben Bowman. It's hard to disagree with his thoughts on this one in the Breakfast Blog. (and yes I too would date Megan Fox, I'm one year from being eligible!)

By the way, if you missed Dance Friday, check it out right here.

**Our "Do My Job" promotion has me deciding between a few jobs to pursue. I think you'll like the job I pick, because either way, I'm going to look like a moron while doing it.

**I'm going to the Hawks game tonight, hoping to watch Cold Steel on Ice close out the series with the Canucks and advance to the Conference Finals for the first time in 14 years. Puck drop: 8pm, End of Regulation: around 10:30pm, Asleep: 11:30pm(ish), Awake: 2:45am.

It's going to be an interesting show tomorrow!
