I know, I know, there's a lot of people who get grumpy when you try to promote Christmas too early in the calendar. Like the people who play Christmas music in the stores before Thanksgiving. Well, get over it Scrooge, because looking at the list of events starting to crop up, 'tis the season!
- If you want to get a head start on the season, head down to Daley Plaza or Oak Brook Center for the 13th annual Christkindlmarket. It's a unique shopping experience that also features traditional German food, drinks and traditions. The Oak Brook market finishes up on Sunday the 16th, and the Chicago version kicks off on Thanksgiving Day. Click here for more information.
- What would the Christmas season be without seeing "A Christmas Carol?" This year, don't wait for it to come on TV, head over the Goodman Theater and check it out live. Opening night is this Friday, and the show runs through Dec. 31. Ticket prices start at $27.
- OK Scrooge, here's a non-Christmas item. On Tuesday, head over to the Museum of Contemporary Art for Bingo Tango. As strange as it sounds, you play bingo, and in between games, you learn how to tango. The MCA has interesting events every Tuesday night. Log on to www.mcachicago.com for more information.
