Got Talent?

Kids ages 4-14 can enter the Taste of Talent competition

With 'American Idol' behind us (do you think Adam Lambert got robbed? Please discuss.) and 'So You Think You Can Dance' on the immediate horizon, there's no denying that this country has a serious obsession with talent competitions. The good news is, all of you eager stage parents out there have a local chance to get your talented darlings on stage this summer. The City of Chicago is accepting applications now through June 5 for the annual Taste of Talent competition at the Taste of Chicago. Kids between the ages of 4 and 14 are invited to enter in vocal, instrumental, drama, dance, variety, comedy, magic, juggling and more categories. Submit a completed entry form along with a demo CD, DVD or VHS tape, and finalists will be chosen by a selection committee (no worries – it doesn't include the intimidating Simon Cowell) to perform at the Taste of Chicago Fun Time Stage on Sunday, July 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Finalists will be notified by June 19.
