Twelve of the city's most powerful female entrepreneurs were chosen to receive professional fashion makeovers at the sixth bi-annual Biz-Over event.
The event, held at the Marlowe Boutique, was designed to help the honorees think about more than just the business side of their operations.
"We look to help them reinforce their brands by providing exposure to new ideas that would help them grow both personally and professionally," founder Lema Khorshid said.
A committee sifts through applications to identify the honorees, and once chosen, they go through an intensive "boot camp," where they're paired with a team of business and beauty experts. The complete makeover, which includes business coaching, legal coaching and a beauty makeover, is valued at more than $2,000.
"It was all about the 12 of us, women who really didn't know each other, and now we have created a network, and that's what it's all about," said Donna Gutman, Regional Executive Director of the Women's Leadership Exchange and one of the honorees.
Next year the group plans to add a Biz-Over event for men.
