Taste wines made from grapes grown near Mount Vesuvius.

The DOC Wine Bar locations in Lincoln Park and Lombard will host dinners featuring the wines of Feudi di San Gregorio, a Southern Italian winery that sources its grapes from the Irpinia region of Italy near the famed Mount Vesuvius. In fact, the notorious volcano, known for destroying the Roman city of Pompeii and for erupting many times since, is credited with enriching the soil of the area with mineral-rich deposits of ash, giving the grapes grown here distinctive aromas and flavors.

Discover them for yourself on Tuesday, Dec. 16 in Lincoln Park and Wednesday, Dec. 17 in Lombard when Maurizio de Rosa, Feudi di San Gregorio's export manager (and a certified sommelier by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier) leads guests through four-course dinners paired with his company's wines. Each dinner has a special menu prepared by chefs Andrew Easterday (Lincoln Park) and Andrew Jenrich (Lombard).

Both wine dinners take place from 7-10PM, and are $60 per person.
