Celebrate National Pizza Pie Day today at venues offering free 'za

In what just might be the best holiday since Thanksgiving (another day to celebrate food), National Pizza Pie Day is today. Don't miss your chance to celebrate with free slices of heaven at the following venues.

At Frasca Pizzeria and Wine Bar in Lakeview, this day of honor is given its due. Just by purchasing a drink from 4:30-7PM, you'll get complimentary pieces of assorted pizzas. Plus, there will be half-price pizzas all night, featuring Frasca's wood-fired favorites such as the Capone (tomato sauce, wood-roasted onions, fennel sausage and mozzarella), the Rustica (diced prosciutto, oven-dried tomatoes, basil pesto and smoked provolone) and the Caponata (with tomato sauce, eggplant, goat cheese, red peppers, mushrooms and artichokes). You can also build your own version from a long list of ingredients ($1-$3 extra each). On Mondays, Frasca also serves half-priced bottles of wine and features a kids-eat-free promotion from 4:30-6PM.

Logan Square's Dunlays on the Square is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on pizza to commemorate National Pizza Pie Day. The popular neighborhood restaurant's pizza menu includes the Margherita (roma tomatoes, basil pesto, baby arugula and mozzarella, $10), Sopressata (aged pepperoni, tomato sauce and mozzarella, $11) and BBQ Chicken (with house-smoked pulled chicken, red onion, cilantro and barbecue sauce, $11). Dunlays on the Square also features $5 glasses of wine on Mondays, as well as the ever-enticing kids-eat-free offer from 4:30-6PM.
