Kenny's New Spot Set to Debut

Sox GM behind West Loop sports bar

If you're wondering where Sox players, other local athletes and probably more than a few groupies will be hanging out late into the night this summer, we think it's a safe bet a new West Loop sports bar will be a good place to start.

Market -- co-owned by White Sox GM Kenny Williams -- officially opens Friday night.

It's billed as a classic American restaurant and sports bar.

The building, located at 1113 West Randolph, offers a 4,500 square foot bar and dining area with 20 flat screen televisions, an outdoor beer garden, sidewalk cafe and a 4,000 sq. ft. rooftop lounge with a 360-degree unobstructed view of the city.

Not surprisingly, the menu contains several odes to sports, such as the South-Side Slugger hamburger and the Super Bowl salads.

Just in time for the Kentucky Derby, Market is hosting a viewing party beginning at 2 p.m. with Macallan mint juleps, live entertainment and giveaways.

Who knows, you may run into a few Sox players -- that is, if they don't mind getting their party on under the watchful eye of their boss.
