Oprahpalooza starts at 5 p.m.

To celebrate her 24th season of emotionally fraught tabloid daytimery, her On-Air Queeniness has taken over Michigan Avenue. Today she's hosting elephunksters The Black Eyed Peas and Oscar-tarian Jennifer Hudson along with some other attractions while she causes headaches for commuters . Here's your guide for getting in, getting down and, if need be, getting out.

Where's The Show?
The stage is at the foot of the Michigan Avenue bridge on the north side, a little south of the intersection of E. Kinzie, N. Water, and Michigan Ave. There are six audience sections -- two on the east side of the stage, and four on Michigan Ave between Hubbard and Ohio. Check out the map for complete info.

What Time Does It Start?
The entrance opens at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. You're not allowed to camp overnight to secure your entrance. The party begins at 5 p.m., rain or shine. The taping should last two hours. Michigan Ave will be closed to traffic through 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.

How Do I Get In?
The audience entrance is at the intersection of Ohio and Michigan. The event's first-come first-serve -- so get there early! There will be limited parking, so your best bet's to take the train or bus in. Check The CTA's web site for service changes.

How Do I Get Out?
Attendees can come and go as they please, but remember attendance is limited. If you leave, there's no guaranteeing you'll be able to get back in.

What Should I Bring?
You're not allowed to be bring much -- no coolers, no umbrellas, no recording equipment, and no pets. But you should bring food (none will be served) and water (although there will be water stations distributed along Michigan Ave). All audience members will be required to stand during the show.

What About Security?
There will be metal detectors and occasional pat downs. Attendees are asked not to bring backpacks or large bags, and women are suggested not to bring large purses.

And If I Just Want to Watch the Show Later?
Oprah's 24th season premier airs Sept. 10th. on WLS-TV, ABC 7.
