Ladies and gentlemen and children of all ages, the circus is about to begin!
Those are the words that greet you at the All-New Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The world famous entertainers are in Chicagoland this month, taking their high-flying acrobatics to the Allstate Arena (Rosemont) until Nov. 16, and then moving to the United Center from Nov. 18-30. (Schedule, tickets)
Who says the circus is just for kids? If you see the faces in the crowd, the adults look as delighted by the show as the adults. With all the flashing lights, music, the smell of cotton candy, juggling clowns and animal antics, it's almost impossible for even the big kids to contain their excitement.
Ticket prices start at $11 for lower-level seating, but for $85, you can purchase a celebrity ticket that offers close-up views and the opportunity to actually become part of the show.
At the end of the day, the average distance the Ringling Brothers circus travels between cities is 350 miles, but the distance you'll need to travel to see the "The Greatest Show on Earth" is only as far as the Allstate Arena or the United Center. How simple is that?
