New Happy Hour Option on the River

The Chicago Architecture Foundation introduces an evening river cruise

The Chicago Architecture Foundation's river cruises are a popular daytime activity through the spring, summer and fall seasons, and, this year, the organization, along with Chicago's First Lady Cruises, has added a 5:30PM tour on Thursday evenings, perfect for a warm weather happy hour gathering or a memorable summertime date.

Equipped with a full bar, open-air decks and air-conditioned indoor seating, you and your shipmates will travel in style. The evening will also provide plenty of conversation starters, as the tour takes you past 53 Chicago landmarks, including Trump Tower, the Merchandise Mart, the Wrigley Building and the Sears (we mean Willis) Tower. You'll also travel along the North Branch of the Chicago River on this 90-minute journey, where your Chicago Architecture Foundation docent will point out such sites as the Chicago Tribune printing press plant, the former Montgomery Ward headquarters and the glass River Cottages.

The Thursday evening Architecture River Cruise will be offered June through September. The cruises depart from the lower level southeast corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge at Wacker Drive. Tickets are $28 per person ($32 on weekends and holidays) and can be obtained in advance by calling 800-982-2787 or through Ticketmaster. You can also buy tickets at the Chicago's First Lady ticket window at the dock or at the Chicago Architecture Foundation Shop at 224 S. Michigan Ave.
