"ER" Stars Thank Chicago
Cast and crew members thank city as show ends its 15 season run

For 15 years, countless members of the "ER" cast have been bouncing back and forth saving lives around the city, hopping on 'L' trains to get to work at County General and taking a break from the grind to stare out at the Chicago River.
Throughout the duration of its fifteen television seasons, cast and crewmembers working on the Chicago-based medical drama have been flying from Los Angeles to Chicago to film scenes in real life Windy City locations. Now, as the series is winding down and the crew is making its last visit to film in Chicago, the two parties involved gathered to express appreciation for a successful partnership.
Members of the cast and crew held a press conference at a North side film set Friday to thank the citizens of Chicago for their hospitality throughout the show's more than 300 episode run.
"ER" Executive Producer Christopher Chulack, as well as cast members Noah Wyle, Parminder Nagra and David Lyons took time out of the show's filming schedule to host the event and show their appreciation for the city. The cast members answered questions about their experiences with the on-location work they filmed in the city, and as a token of gratitude, presented the Mayor's Chief of Staff Paul Volpe with a framed photograph of the show's current cast.
To further celebrate the longstanding relationship between the city and the television drama, to honor the show's legacy as the longest running television show to film in Chicago, Mayor Daley declared January 30, 2009 "ER" Day in Chicago.
