Actress Keri Russell is in Chicago today promoting her pet project, holiday safety.

After helping flip the switch at Mayor Daley's annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Loop, Keri talked about her partnership with UL, (Underwriters Laboratory), an organization that tests electrical products for safety.

"Especially during Christmastime, you're bringing new electronic products into the home. It's really important to look for the UL mark, which essentially means it's passed the safety standard," Russel said.

The actress has a new movie coming out on Christmas Day. It's called, "Bedtime Stories," and also stars Courtney Cox and Adam Sandler

She said she enjoys doing movies these days -- now that she's a new mom -- because it allows her to spend more time with her family.  And the UL partnership is right up her alley.

"As a new mom, you are so concerned about home safety," she said.

This is the first Christmas they will all be together in their new New York home.
